So Perez Hilton can’t understand why Emile Hirsch would pee on a potted cactus outside Bootsy Bellows on Sunset Strip? Well Perez, haven’t you heard about water conservation? Yes, peeing on a cactus isn’t one of the 100 conservation tips posted on the Water Use It Wisely website. But maybe, just maybe, it should be. Hirsch, best known for his roles in “Lords of Dogtown,” “The Emperor’s Club,” “The Girl Next Door,” “Alpha Dog,” “Milk” and “Into the Wild,” did participate in Summit on the Summit, a climb to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro whose goal was to raise awareness of the need for clean water.
When he took a leak on a cactus Tuesday night (Dec. 4), he saved 1.6 gallons of water that otherwise would have been flushed down a Bootsy Bellows toilet. Those of us who support conservation in West Hollywood applaud him.
