Ho! Ho! Ho! Larry Block Wishes WeHo’s City Council a Merry Christmas

In a story published two years ago, WEHOville labeled Larry Block a “rabble rouser.” It was an insensitive label, but it was one that Block quickly embraced. ” … When I think of a rabble rouser, I think of someone like Harvey Milk or Martin Luther King,” Block said at the time. “For me the definition is ‘a guy who speaks truth to power. A person who stands up for what’s right’.”

Block does that, and with a sense of humor. At a West Hollywood City Council meeting last week Block welcomed the holidays with the funny and provocative speech you can hear in the video above, calling out missteps made by some of our elected officials and praising them for their good work.

Terrific, artistic and very funny. The 5 stooges on the dais barely cracked a smile. Please run again because we need a city council member as creative as the city we live in.

I think Larry missed his calling. He’s been a very effective community activist & politician wannabe, but I think he has show business written all over his behavior.& personality. I can see him as a political TV talking head, a talk show host, in a half hour sitcom or even a stand up comedian. I’m sure he could write his own material. In any case, WeHo is lucky to have at least one such character who is willing to rattle some cages & speak truth to power on occasion, even if in such a humorous way.

Great, Larry but who was that dapper man in the pink coat sitting behind you?
