Sunday’s L.A. Marathon Will Mean Major Street Closures for WeHo

Major streets in West Hollywood will be closed on Sunday to accommodate the annual L.A. Marathon.

The streets, which will be closed between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m., are as follows:

– Sunset Boulevard between North Havenhurst Drive and Doheny Drive.
– North San Vicente Boulevard between Sunset Boulevard and Melrose Avenue.
– Santa Monica Boulevard between La Cienega Avenue and North Doheny Drive.
– North Doheny Drive between Santa Monica Boulevard and Beverly Boulevard.

Parking will not be allowed along the race course. “No parking” signs will be posted before the event. Vehicles in violation will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense. The West Hollywood Sheriff Station will use Twitter (@WHDLASD) to announce when streets are reopened. A map showing street closures is available on the Marathon website.

The West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station offers the following suggestions for getting around Sunday’s detours:

For access east of Crescent Heights Boulevard, but north of Sunset Boulevard from the west:
– Head north on Cory Avenue
– Turn left onto North Doheny Drive
– Turn right to stay on North Doheny Drive
– Slight left to stay on North Doheny Drive
– Turn right onto Oriole Drive
– Turn left onto Thrasher Avenue
– Slight left to stay on Thrasher Avenue
– Turn right onto Rising Glen Road
– Turn left onto Sunset Plaza Drive
– Turn right onto Hollywood Boulevard
– Turn right onto Laurel Canyon Boulevard
– Exit to North Crescent Heights Boulevard

For access east of Crescent Heights Boulevard, but south of Sunset Boulevard from the west:
– Turn left on West Sunset Boulevard
– Turn Right on South Beverly Glen
– Turn Right onto Wilshire Boulevard
– Take the 405 South
– Exit Olympic Boulevard and head west

For access west of San Vicente Boulevard, but north of Santa Monica Boulevard from the east:
– Turn left onto Hollywood Boulevard
– Turn left onto Sunset Plaza Drive
– Turn right onto Rising Glen Road
– Turn left onto Thrasher Avenue.
– Stay right on Thrasher Avenue.
– Turn right onto Oriole Drive
– Turn left onto North Doheny Drive
– Turn right to stay on North Doheny Drive
– Turn left to stay on North Doheny Drive
– Turn right on Cory Avenue
– Head west on Sunset Boulevard

For access west of San Vicente Boulevard, but south of Santa Monica Boulevard from the east:
– Head south towards Olympic Boulevard
– Head west on Olympic Boulevard
– Take the 405 North
– Exit Wilshire Boulevard, turn right.
– Turn left on South Beverly Glen
– Turn right on West Sunset Boulevard

How do I get from Doheny off Burton Way to to PCH tomorrow AM where the Incline ends in Santa Monica

Z – Forgive me! You are fine, just take Holloway to La Cienega and make a right, the street closure is not in your way!!

Z – If you’re driving, you’ll need to take sunset drive west to the 405 South, get off at Olympic, take olympic east to La Cienega north til you reach your destination

Mike Dunn – walk or drive the 4 blocks? Theres no street closure in your way.

I’m confused with these options….
What if I live on Palm, between Santa Monica and Holloway Dr? How can I get to Hamilton Dr and Wilshire? Anyone who can answer, I thank you very much! 🙂
