West Hollywood will roll out a new mobile public safety command center next Tuesday at an event at Formosa Park.
The mobile center vehicle is being launched in response to requests by residents for a stronger presence by Sheriff’s deputies on the city’s Eastside (the Sheriff’s Station is located on the Westside on San Vicente Boulevard at Santa Monica).
In a press release, the city said the mobile command center “will help the City to more effectively respond to and manage emergency situations. The vehicle will provide a safe spot for first-responders to be situated on-location during incidents, and it will aid in rapid communication with local, state, and federal agencies on an as-needed basis to help ensure public safety.”
Tuesday’s event is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Formosa Park, which is at 1140 N. Formosa Ave. north of Santa Monica Boulevard. Attending will be members of the West Hollywood City Council and staff members from the city’s Public Safety Department, as well as law-enforcement personnel from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station and fire-safety personnel from L.A. County Fire Stations 7 and 8. Residents are encouraged to stop by to see the high-tech vehicle; light refreshments will be served.
Fantastic!
