The L.A. County Coroner’s Office has identified the woman found dead last Friday at an apartment at 802 West Knoll Drive as Kimberly Ann Fattorini, 30, a model and casting assistant.
L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies and firefighters responded around 3:20 p.m. on July 21 to a report of a woman found unconscious at the West Knoll Drive apartment. Several hours later, deputies and employees of the Coroner’s Office removed the body of the woman, now identified as Fattorini, from the building.
A spokesperson in the Coroner’s Office said the cause of death hasn’t been determined yet. But, he said, there was evidence that Fattorini had been out with friends the night before, drinking and possibly using drugs. Acquaintances of Fattorini’s have posted statements online that she was attending a party at the Playboy Mansion.
Tawnie Jaclyn, another model who identifies herself as Fattorini’s roommate, posted a tribute to Fattornini on her Instagram page. “We came from the same background, the same hometown. We understood each other on a different level than anybody else. We were supposed to live our lives together. Be moms together. Share a life together. You were the reason for the life I’m living now. You introduced me and helped me break through into this world. Because of you, I am who I am today.”
Fattorini’s mother and father, DeAnn and Ferdinand Fattorini, have created a GoFundMe account to raise money for a memorial service for their daughter. That service is scheduled for Saturday and is open only to Fattorini’s friends. The account’s goal was to raise $20,000. As of publication, it has raised $30,225.
Fattorini worked as a casting assistant with her boyfriend Sam Rhima, one of whose most prominent clients was Playboy. Fattorini’s IMDB profile lists her as a casting assistant for the “Playboy’s Beach House” TV series and the “Badass!” TV series and as an actor in the TV series “The Hi-Life.”
Fattorini was born and raised in La Mirada before moving to Los Angeles to pursue her career in acting and modeling. According to a profile of her in Rukus Magazine, Fattorini’s “career started when she attended a model search for a Las Vegas magazine and ended up winning the contest. The win gave her a new perspective on modeling and lit a fire inside her.
“Kimberly loved being in front of the camera and it showed. She went on to win more titles for bikini modeling and became a 2013 Tropic Beauty calendar model.”

Just because SHE may have had that lifestyle doesn’t mean her parents had the money to bury/cremate her and coordinate a celebration of her life. Obviously a LOT of people stepped up and donated. RIP dear woman.
Oscar: I agree.
I live across the street and when they took her body a man was hysterical and screaming/wailing “WHO GAVE YOU THE DRUGS!!” It was horrible to hear. He was out there for a good hour everyone watching all around.
Just saw her instagram photos. The girl lived a high maintenance lifestyle. Fancy clothes, night clubs, always surrounded by beautiful people and models, VIP parties, etc. So why the need for funeral donations? If you live that large, then why the need for gofundme?
Obviously, living large does not mean you have a bank account to match. whatever the reason they need the funds for a funeral, it is a huge support to the family and an honor to the woman who was obviously of service, even if one has an opinion about her employer or her work as an artist, you must look at this is a human life and not judge as we are all in this together, each of us bringing whatever light to whatever darkness we are confronting.
It takes 90 days or more for a toxicology report to confirm anything like that. Further, it is too soon for even a natural cause to have been determined. Also, her family did not start the go fund me as it is stated on the page to have been started by her boyfriend Sam Rhima. Sad that people are speculating as to her cause of death instead of simply expressing condolences to her friends and family and mourning the loss of a life ended tragically young. Rest in Peace Kim. Prayers for your family and friends to honor you and… Read more »
Agreed. Just so sad. I was only suggesting it is very unusual for someone so young. And I am sorry to have offended. It is also too soon to talk about cautionary tales, etc. So sorry for your loss and it seems she was a bright star radiating light in everyone’s life. This affected me deeply, although I don’t know her, she was a neighbor. And it is always wonderful to pay tribute and honor memories. You are right in your comments, apologies and again so sorry for your loss.
This is so sad. We do need to think about looking out for each other in our neighborhood. I cannot believe that a night of partying, usually responsible partying, can result in the death of someone who had so much to live for. My heart goes out to her family. This is a tough business and it takes its toll. It is possible too, that she had a congenital heart defect, and sometimes undiagnosed can contribute to an unusual response to drugs. Best to be checked out, even at an early age, if you are going to be doing any… Read more »
