Last Week Was a Light One for Crime in West Hollywood

Last week was a light one when it came to serious crime in West Hollywood, with only six vehicle break-ins, and the biggest single loss only $2,870. Below is the list of serious or Part I crimes reported to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station between June 11 and June 17.

June 11

Residential Burglary. 1000 block Westmount Drive at 5 a.m. An unknown suspect used an unlocked patio door to gain access and removed an iPad and a pair of sunglasses from the living room. Loss $750. #03814

Vehicle Burglary. 400 block Norwich Drive between 6 p.m. and 12:18 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a parking permit and two unattached license plates from the front floorboard. No sign of forced entry. #03899

Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon (Suspect Arrested). 1100 block North La Cienega Boulevard at 7:15 a.m. A man threw a glass bottle at an employee after being asked to stop rummaging through the trash can and dumping its contents onto the street. The bottle missed the victim but hit the rear window of a parked car and shattered the window. The suspect fled the area but was arrested by responding deputies. #03878

Vehicle Burglary. 8700 block Sunset Boulevard between 6:45 and 11 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a briefcase containing documents from the back seat. Loss $330. #03902

Vehicle Burglary. 8700 block Sunset Boulevard between 6:45 and 11 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed a purse containing makeup and miscellaneous electronics from the front seat. Loss $800. #03903

June 14

Other Burglary. 600 block North Orlando Avenue between 2 a.m. and 2:45 a.m. the next day. An unknown suspect used force to break open a laundry machine coin collection unit and removed $300 in quarters. Loss $800. #03915

June 15

Grand Theft. 1200 block North Laurel Avenue between 9:30 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. the next day. An unknown suspect cut the lock and removed a large record/compact discs collection from an outside storage unit. Loss $15,000. #03964

June 16

Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon. 8700 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 12:10 a.m. A man swung a club and hit the victim on his head during an argument on the sidewalk. The victim suffered a cut requiring stitches. #03952

Residential Burglary (Suspect Arrested). 900 block Palm Avenue at 12:42. A women used an unlocked patio door to gain access to her mother’s apartment without permission. The suspect was found inside the residence and arrested by responding deputies. #03961

June 17

Grand Theft. 8800 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 1:30 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a cell phone from the victim’s back pocket while inside the club. Loss $1060. #03986

Other Burglary. 8700 block Beverly Boulevard at 5 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front glass door to gain entry and removed approximately 30 backpacks from the interior. Loss $45,00. #03980

Vehicle Burglary. 8200 block Sunset Boulevard between 3:30 and 11:20 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window and removed a duffel bag containing clothing and a backpack containing shoes from the back seat. The backpack and shoes were found nearby and recovered. The duffle bag and clothing is still missing. Loss $150. #03996

Vehicle Burglary. 8500 block Sunset Boulevard between 11 and 11:55 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a bag containing a camera, camera lens, tripod, and miscellaneous electronics from the back seat. Loss $2,870. #03997
