11 Vehicle Burglaries in WeHo Last Week, and a Fight Among Uber Passengers

There were 11 vehicle burglaries in West Hollywood last week and one armed robbery. An unusual incident occurred on June 23 on Sunset Boulevard when three men in an Uber vehicle assaulted a man trying to get into the vehicle with his female companion.

June 17

Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon (Suspect Arrested). 900 block Doheny Drive at 1:34 p.m. A man jumped a fence at the location and got into the swimming pool. An employee asked the suspect to leave the area, but he refused and armed himself with a hammer from a nearby table. The suspect raised the hammer and threatened to hit the victim. The suspect was located and arrested by responding deputies. #04038

Vehicle Burglary. Almont Drive / Melrose Avenue between 6:15 and 7:30 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed two backpacks containing an iPad, two laptop computers, and a Kindle from the trunk. #04045

June 18

Armed Robbery. Crescent Heights / Willoughby Avenue at 2 a.m. A man was walking northbound on Crescent Heights when another man approached him while armed with a knife and demanded his property. The suspect removed pain medication from the victim’s backpack and then fled the area on foot. The victim waited three days to report the incident. #04118

Vehicle Burglary. 900 block West Knoll Drive between 6 and 8 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed a backpack containing clothing from the front seat. #04086

June 19

Vehicle Burglary. 600 block West Knoll Drive at 11:30 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window and removed a backpack containing tools from the back seat. #04095

June 20

Grand Theft. 8800 block Ashcroft Avenue at 4:34 a.m. An unknown suspect removed sunglasses, gift cards, and $300 cash from the glove compartment and center console of the unlocked vehicle. #04101

June 21

Other Burglary. 8400 block Sunset Boulevard at 5:10 a.m.. An unknown suspect smashed a glass door to gain entry and removed cigarettes from a display area. #04113

Vehicle Burglary. 8300 block Sunset Boulevard between 12:05 and 1:15 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window and pushed the rear seat down to gain access to the trunk but did not take anything. #04112

June 22

Grand Theft. 8800 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 11 p.m and 12:30 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a cell phone from the victim’s back pocket while on the dance floor. #04151

Other Burglary. 8600 block Melrose Avenue at 5:13 p.m. An unknown suspect used a key to open the front door and gain access but did not take anything. #04140

Vehicle Burglary. 7300 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 7:35 a.m.. A man smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed a purse from the front seat. #04132

Vehicle Burglary. 8300 block Fountain Avenue between 5:35 and 7 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed a backpack containing perfume from the front floorboard. #04143

Vehicle Burglary. 600 block La Peer Drive. Between 6 and9 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a backpack containing a laptop computer and tablet computer from the back seat. #04145

Vehicle Burglary. 8400 block Melrose Avenue between 9:15 and 11:30 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a briefcase containing a laptop computer from the rear cargo area. #04163

Vehicle Burglary. 8500 block Sherwood Drive between 1 and2 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and ransacked the interior but did not take anything. #04167

June 23

Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon. 8900 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 12:05 a.m. A man was hit on his head with a glass bottle by another man during an argument inside the club. #04147

Aggravated Assault – Hands, Fist, Feet. 8400 block Sunset Boulevard at 1:30 a.m. A man and woman attempted to enter their Uber and noticed three men were sitting in the car. The victim asked the men to exit the vehicle and an argument issued. The suspects got out of the vehicle and began to punch the victim numerous times in the face and body. The suspects fled the area on foot. #04159

Vehicle Burglary. 9000 block West  Sunset Boulevard between 1 and 2:30 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a laptop computer, digital camera, and camera lens from the rear cargo area. #04153

Vehicle Burglary. 838 Doheny Drive between 3:20 and 3:25 a.m. A man smashed the rear windshield and removed a duffel bag containing clothing from the trunk area. A security guard saw the incident occur and chased after the suspect but did not catch up with him. #04154

Vehicle Burglary. Melrose Avenue / Westmount Drive between 7:46 and 10 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window and removed a bag containing a laptop computer, tablet computer, and medical equipment. #04171

Vehicle Burglary. 7231 Santa Monica Boulevard between 9:50 and 10:50 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a backpack containing two laptop computers, hard drive, and DJ hardware from the rear floorboard. #04172

Everybody has laptops in backpacks. I have doubts about some of the claims and have had doubts for a long time.
