Laced cocaine kills Fuquan Johnson, puts Kate Quigley in hospital

Comedian and model Kate Quigley texted a friend she is “Ok”  after reportedly taking cocaine laced with fentanyl at a home in Venice where comedian Fuquan Johnson and two other people died.

Quigley’s friend and fellow comedian Brian Redban on Sunday posted on his Instagram account a text message from Quigley that read: “I’m alive. I’m not great. But im. Ok.”

He asked people to “give love to my dear friend @KateQFunny.”

Quigley had been hospitalized in critical condition, according to multiple reports.

Redban also posted a request from Quigley’s medical team that people “refrain from calling or showing up at the hospital. They have been inundated with requests for information on her status which they legally can’t share with anyone other than designated parties.”

Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched at 12:04 a.m. Saturday to a home in the 200 block of Carroll Canal, where three people were pronounced dead at the scene and another person was rushed to an area hospital, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The three fatalities were later identified as Johnson, 43, of North Hollywood; Natalie Williamson, 33, of Los Angeles; and Enrico Colangeli, 48, of Medford, Massachusetts, according to the Los Angeles County coroners’ office.

Johnson was a standup comedian and writer for “Comedy Parlour Live.”

“I love you Fuquan Lateef Johnson! #FuFacts RIP,” actor and director Damien Dante Wayans tweeted Sunday.

Quigley has hosted Playboy TVs “Undercover” and the 2016 AVN Awards, and formerly dated singer Darius Rucker, the former lead vocalist for Hootie and the Blowfish.

TMZ, which first reported the story, said Quigley lived next to the residence that was the location of the 911 call, and all the victims appeared to have ingested cocaine laced with fentanyl — a powerful painkiller blamed for millions of overdose deaths across the United States over the last several years.

Autopsies will be conducted on all three victims.

Time to tax, regulate & legalize cocaine already. It’s like this: Don’t want to do cocaine? DON’T DO IT. BUT – if you want to, it’s available to those 21+. Safe, legal and non-lethal if you use responsibly — just like booze. Oh yeah and you eliminate a huge chunk of global narco terrorism. Wins all around. Peace all.

It’s numbing to admit I find little sympathy for anyone who does drugs. They made a choice. They live and die by them. If this is recreational I would suggest buying a bike.

It appears to be MORE a matter of frustration on your part because, addiction is a problem that requires the attention and treatment from qualified Medical Professionals⚕ as opposed to even the best intended sympathetic amateurs.

Those hysterical over “drugs coming across the border” should be aware of the single biggest player & originator the entire operation, our own CIAThey smuggled Heroin during the Vietnam war, the CIA-run and Reagan-backed cocaine smuggling to finance their covert ops and, today with CIA managed shipments of Fentanyl & other drugs. Originally intended to pay for their activities abroad like overthrowing democratically elected governments to replace them with right-wing dictatorships, now backing domestic political covert ops. 😱

Is Fentanyl a value added perk of other drugs? Sort of an extra strength heroin or cocaine? An enhancement of function? (I know it only as an Rx pain patch (Duragesic) that was used by a dear friend – effectively and safely for disabling, chronic pain.) Since we know that a large quantity of this deadly drug is coming on slow boats from abroad and over our border, shouldn’t we, at the very least, be promoting a quick and safe test for it’s presence in other drugs. It is sad that we criminalize and deny the use of other drugs… Read more »

It is becoming a practice that dealers are mixing fentanyl with cocaine and it has been known for awhile. You are rolling the dice whenever you get drugs from an unknown source.Sorry to hear about these deaths.I hope Quigley recovers.

What does this have to do with West Hollywood?

It has everything to do with West Hollywood. It is a wake up call to anyone using this substance and is a warning of the dangers of these powerful drugs.

The idiot blonde completely OK with the dangerous street drugs but, highly reluctant to receive proven safe and effective life saving vaccines💉 during a lethal pandemic☣; is more strongly attributed to Beverly Hells than the Great City of West Hollywood❗

This woman is not from Beverly Hills she lives in Venice. I’m a blonde woman who lives in Beverly Hills I am fully vaccinated and I don’t do drugs. Hope this opens up your mind.

You are naive to think this is a local problem. Door you imagine Fentanyl laced drugs are restricted to our city. How did you determine this?

Think I’m being misunderstanding here, no drugs are NOT a problem limited to any city including West Hollywood and, I was pointing out that the problem is far worse in nearby beverly hells! Though there are very legitimate concerns, the dangers and problems attributed to Fentanyl especially by law enforcement are wildly exaggerated ❗

Beverly Hills does not have anywhere near the problem with drugs amongst residents as West Hollywood does, as someone who’s spent 5 years in WeHo city limits and going on 2 years in BH just basing it on my neighbors and problematic behavior it’s much calmer on this side of the tracks (and by tracks I mean Doheny. This is anecdotal and observational but still true
