WeHo’s Part One crimes in December 2021 rose by 61 percent when compared to December 2020, according to Lt. Bill Moulder with the Sheriff’s Department.
Crime on the West Side was up by 168 percent, Lt. Moulder told the Public Safety Commission on Monday night.
On a happier note, he told the Commission about a heart-warming story about Deputy Martinez and Deputy Olvera, who responded to an emergency call regarding a baby choking. The deputies performed CPR techniques on the baby, which dislodged the object that was in his throat, saving and the 1-year-old boy.
