Heart, the much-hyped nightclub coming to the former Rage location, will open with a soft-opening – dry run this coming weekend, management has confirmed to WEHOville.
The new club, located at 8911 Santa Monica Blvd., comes courtesy of the successful proprietors behind Rocco’s, which sits across the street. That group include Lance Bass of *NYSNC fame, who has been promoting the venture since last year. Teaser ads have billed it as the “biggest gay nightclub in the U.S.”
Heart held a private fundraiser on Saturday evening, where management revealed the club would be opening to the public the first weekend in February. A grand opening is scheduled for Feb. 11.
The establishment joins Stache and the relocated GymBar in a leading a renaissance of the Rainbow District bars, which suffered a serious blow from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dear HEART ***** At the Rage spanning a 15 year Period I did over twenty thousand dances on the main Stage
When only people with the highest profiles and the deepest pockets can afford to open and advertise new venues, the entire scene progressively degrades. Anybody who thinks Heart will be any different than the one note flavor of every other anesthetizing venue on that West Hollywood strip is going to be very gravely disappointed indeed. Ooof!
It can’t possibly be bigger than Sidetrack in Chicago. Anyone know the square footage?
It’s not even as big as the Abbey.
…and just how does this new place open up without a liquor license? The current address has an active license but that license (former Rage owners) is a pending transfer to a new address in Encino. Meaning, it’s been sold.
There isn’t a new license in the Alcohol & Beverage Control database for that address. Nor is there one for the dba Heart Weho. And, when was the 30-day posting completed?

I am excited for Heart to open. It will be nice to have another option if you are looking for a club with a big dance floor. Right now the Abbey and the Chapel are really the only bars that have a big dance floor.
Can someone explain how it can be called ‘The Biggest’?
There are countless bigger gay clubs around the USA.
Yea — Ive said the same thing. Ive been to way bigger places in the USA
yeah like Sidetrack in Chicago

Lance isn’t as big as he says, either.
I’m still trying to wrap my head around why a “fundraiser” would need to be held, for an establishment funded by a rich celebrity, who has already shown success across the street, and who will probably charge, on average, $10-$14 a drink. How about he be good to his neighbors, and raise $$ for businesses who have gone through more difficult times, such as Gym Bar, or a neighboring retail store or food restaurant. Or give back to the community members. The 21st Century sure has allowed just about anything to have a fundraiser.
The fundraiser wasn’t for the venue, they were hosting an Aids Lifcycle fundraising event and were using it as a trial opening.
I appreciate your clarification on this one. Have a good day.
The space is actually a good deal smaller than Rage was and nowhere near the size of other clubs nearby. :Biggest” is just the usual indehescent spin.

Wish them the best of luck. (why is every new facade these days done in black or dark gray…our little stretch of SMB looks like burnt out store fronts).
