Why can’t the city make property owners, especially apartment buildings, maintain their properties or be fined? Everywhere else I’ve lived across the land demands that properties are painted, gutters etc are maintained, vegetation maintained etc. Not so in WEHO. The city wants apartments to become blighted so they can have ammunition to bulldoze. Keeps their back room buddies, the developers very happy.

Even owners of Historic properties are lax in the maintenance clearly outlined in their Mills Act contracts. They take the tax benefits and fail to apply the dollars to specific maintenance items. This has been overseen by the Historic Preservation planner who has been deficient in this for years with multiple properties. Seems like fraudulent behavior on both sides.
