Hello, Ms. Yvonne Quarker, City Clerk —
I have reviewed the draft minutes of the June 27 City Council meeting and now wonder about the value of submitting Citizen Position Slips for the public record.
If I had been able to stay for this particular meeting, I would certainly have submitted Speaker Slips. However, I do recall submitting to you 5 Citizen Position Slips, including 3 to indicate my support for Consent Items 2.Y. (Transportation Options), 2.H.H. (Renters’ Access to Housing Opportunities) and 2.I.I. (Travel Bans to Anti-Abortion States).
In addition, I submitted Citizen Position slips supporting the recommendations in both 3.F. (Nuisance Abatement at 1280 N. Sweetzer) and 4.E. (Historic Resources Survey of R1A and R1C Properties) which I now see was ultimately moved to become new Consent Item 2.LL. in the draft minutes.
Can my positions be reflected in the final minutes and exactly what is the current city process related to Citizen Position Slips?
Thank you for clarifying this important matter related to public
recordkeeping and public participation.
