Shyne skips Council meeting, rubs shoulders in D.C.

Mayor Sepi Shyne was absent from last night’s City Council meeting while on a trip to Washington D.C., her Facebook page revealed.

The mayor attended a gala held at the White House by the Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA) to celebrate Nowruz, the Persian New Year.

Shyne shared photos of herself and other Iranian-American politicians posted by the organization on the night of the event.

Shyne is currently running a campaign to succeed U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff to represent the 30th Congressional district of California on Capitol Hill.

Trying to outdo Horvath’s legacy of failing up.

While not a fan of Ms. Shyne, it is fine she was able to attend this event in DC. Council people often miss multiple meetings in a year and unless this was official (which it was not), the expenses were hers to pay. Bottom line is, this is not the issue to “draw the line” with her, but there are plenty of others.

She sure seems to care about Iran. Perhaps she so move there and run for office.

Its ok that she has buyer’s remorse – she misread the tealeaves, it happens. Its hilarious that Mayor Moon thinks she will win a congressional seat – thats not just stumbling into office like she did in Weho

Guess Erickson will be endorsing Friedman as well, no way he will let down his gal pal Byers and his bestie Austin.

I have not made up my mind but Friedman is a pretty credible and viable candidate to represent us in Washington.

Possibly, but having Byers and Austin attached to the name isn’t a good look.

Steve: progressivism is evil and if you can’t see that by now, shred your voter registration.

You seriously look around you, across the country and planet and go “this is fine,” and expect normal people with common sense to believe you? Either you’re gaslighting or high.

This was an intolerable dereliction of duty to the office of public trust she currently holds. This reception did nothing to advance the nuts and bolts of sound municipal governance in West Hollywood. This was a naked political opportunity to create photo ops for a race for another office, and likely to mingle with potential donors to that race.

Totally agree. It’s time for a lawsuit. Breach of public trust against Mayor Shyne.

It keeps getting worse. Degrading the office she occupies in Weho which is believed to have been obtained by fraudulence of character in innumerable acts. Photo Ops are meaningless to the vigilant voter and presumably decision maker. Fooled us once with Horvath fooled us twice now with Shyne?

Did BBB pay for the Mayor’s trip or did the City of West Hollywood? Where was President Biden, in the basement or in bed or in Delaware?

The residents of West Hollywood unfortunately did a poor job of vetting Sepi Shyne. In our quest for change, we voted for what appeared to be a qualified candidate that unbeknownst to us maintained a duplicitous underbelly and a lack of integrity. We were easily fooled. I was fooled regrettably voted for this divisive individual.

she’s no different from the rest of them. it’s time for the homeowners to force these nut jobs out…..and put some serious people on the council that won’t worry about parades and crosswalks.

Nobody is worrying about crosswalks. I’ve been messaging traffic and engineering Richard Garland for three months and cc’ing council and city managers and the crosswalks at Hayworth and Norton are still not working on half the street. I’m getting the impression no one cares and people are just collecting a paycheck. This can’t be that hard of a problem to solve.

That’s what makes sociopaths so difficult to recognize. They have an uncanny ability to be whatever they need to be to get what they want…and then once they do their true nature comes out. That’s why their official diagnosis is Antisocial Personality Disorder.

How is this okay? Being the Mayor of West Hollywood should be her first priority. How many Council Meetings is she allowed to miss?

Ambition is a mighty magnet when it ;pulls one from one’s duties to mingle with a more spangled crowd in hope of being down into by mere presence. Must be careful to hire council members who will do their job first, then seek higher office.

At least Garcetti has the perfect post as ambassador to India where people crap on the streets just like in his old city. He should feel right at home over there.

She should be absent at council meetings more often. It’s better for West Hollywood.
