Residents who live within 500 feet of 8001 Santa Monica Boulevard or 1105 North Laurel Avenue in West Hollywood, California, are invited to a neighborhood meeting at Plummer Park from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, April 25, to discuss a three new developments in the vicinity: a new, private, members-only cannabis club; a cannabis cafe open to the public, and; a modern Mediterranean restaurant featuring a lush rooftop lounge.
The project’s applicant submitted an entitlement application will meet with property owners and tenants to share information about the proposed project, answer questions, and directly connect with neighbors.
The proposed project will occupy one parcel, APN 5554-014-008, totaling approximately 12,439 square feet. The project would demolish two vacant, single-story buildings previously used for retail and institutional purposes, totaling approximately 6,062 square feet. The proposed project includes approximately 24,810 square feet of interior space and 12,089 square feet of terraced outdoor patio space. The building will be four stories tall with a subterranean parking garage.
The proposed restaurant will be located at 1105 North Laurel Avenue, while the proposed private cannabis club and public cannabis café will be located at 8001 Santa Monica Boulevard. Onsite cannabis consumption will only be permitted within the licensed cannabis consumption areas: the cannabis members-only club and cannabis cafe, located on the first two floors. Food preparation will be physically separated from all portions of the cannabis consumption areas. The Mediterranean restaurant, including its rooftop lounge and terraced patio, will be cannabis-free.

So, another evolution of this previously decapitated, reroofed and repainted building. Apparently the current owners chose Cannabis as the best ingredient for healthy community environment over housing. Basta to the Children’s Day Care Center as they would not fit in. Hello to a Private Cannabis Club, Restaurant and Cannabis Cafe in the wonderful world of Oz. Wonder what impacts this will have on the French Market Place. Oh no! Faring is in the Cannabis Business as well in a major way. There goes the neighborhood!
Last I heard this is the Tocaya restaurant chain family who’s developing the property and opening this business
This will make Sepi happy, as more sales tax means the City can continue to pay Sepi’s management friend’s salaries at City Hall, that often are around $400,000 per year, including perks. That doesn’t include when they retire, we keep paying most of their salary until they drop dead. It’s unsustainable over time. Yet there’s not enough money for more Sheriffs around, to keep up with the crime Sepi’s policies continue to make worse.

Why does it seem that we’re getting a lot more pot affiliated places than WeHo said were possible when they legalized it? Or is it just my imagination? We clamped down on smoking so we could all escape the health hazards and so we can breathe clean air and now you can’t go anywhere without the stench of pot.
